Agreement

By downloading or using HowLong ("the App"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Description of Service

HowLong is a location-based time tracking app that helps you monitor how long you spend at places you care about. The App uses geofencing and other location technologies to automatically detect arrivals and departures.

Free and Pro Tiers

The App is free to download with core features available at no cost, including tracking up to three places. A one-time in-app purchase ("HowLong Pro") unlocks additional features including unlimited places, place photos, smart cadence reminders, and data export.

• The Pro unlock is a one-time, non-consumable purchase. There are no subscriptions or recurring charges.
• The Pro purchase supports Family Sharing for up to six family members.
• Optional tip jar purchases are available as a way to support development. Tips do not unlock any additional features.

Purchases and Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple directly through their Report a Problem page.

Location Services

The App requires access to your device's location services to function. You grant this permission through your device settings. You may revoke location access at any time, but the App's core tracking features will not work without it.

Location accuracy and detection depend on device hardware, iOS version, environmental conditions, and system-level power management. GDW Entertainment does not guarantee perfect accuracy of arrival or departure detection.

Your Data

Your place and visit data is stored locally on your device. You are responsible for backing up your data. GDW Entertainment is not responsible for data loss due to device failure, app deletion, or any other cause.

Feature Board

The App includes a community feature request board. By submitting a feature request, you grant GDW Entertainment the right to use, display, and implement your suggestion without compensation. Do not submit personal or sensitive information in feature requests.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
• Submit abusive, offensive, or spam content to the feature board.
• Use the App to track or monitor other people without their consent.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. GDW Entertainment does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that location detection will be perfectly accurate.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GDW Entertainment shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
